VR Hub Tokyo Summer Meetup Vol.5 | VR / AR / MR

We know many of you share our interest in AI, so this event we’ve got a real treat for you. Rodrigo Gutierrez of DVERSE Inc. will be opening our minds with an introduction to Machine Learning (ML) concepts through a talk that will help prime users on how to get started with ML.

For the entrepreneurial amongst us, Devin Ehrig of Shadow Factory will be sharing his experiences and offering some great advice on how best to build a VR team.

Not only that, we’ve also got two great speakers from the Tokyo VR scene discussing their projects and sharing valuable insights, a presentation from Nattsu on the key factors for becoming popular in VR; and another talk from Shinya Tachihara, a winner of a prestigious Microsoft Mixed Reality award. We’ll be sharing more details on these talks very soon.

We’re also excited to have VR Hub Tokyo team member Scott George in attendance, not only to offer his usual hands-on demo corner for those keen to try VR, but also to announce some great VR related news of his own!

As always, we’ll have beers and pizza (as well as other soft drinks and snacks) available for all attendees to enjoy. For this event, we'll be offering our reduced entry price of ¥1,000 for those who RSVP through our Meetups or Doorkeeper pages.

He belongs to HoloLab.Inc. which is a specialized company for HoloLens. He works diligently for Windows Mixed Reality including HoloLens. As the result of his achievement, he got an award about Mixed Reality from Microsoft Cooperation. The number of awarded person is less than 200 people in the world.

A short introduction to basic Machine Learning concepts, with the goal of orienting listeners interested in Artificial Intelligence and ML techniques on how to get started. Topics covered will be: basic concept definitions, types of ML problems, types of ML algorithms, and tips on data preparation and training.

Originally from Tijuana, Mexico. Used to work in Aerospace engineering, and came to Tokyo in 2016 for a career change. Have been working on VR hardware and software ever since, with a specialty in OpenGL, C++, OpenVR, and Unity3D. Passionate about 3D graphics and video game hardware.
