VR Hub Tokyo is a community for startups, developers, creators and enthusiasts interested in creating and promoting new virtual and augmented reality as well as 360-degree immersion experiences, technologies and applications.

VR Hub Tokyo Meetup on March 1st will be our first educational and networking event sponsored by Impact HUB Tokyo. This and future meetups are intended to provide you with insight and exchange of ideas on diverse topics of VR and AR, demo solutions concluding with VEER (VR + Beer) networking.

Social VR by Leonard Burton

Leonard will be talking about the power and potential of social VR experiences, as well as touching upon the problems that are showing to arise from the troll aspect of the Internet in these environments.

Artis Birzins

Co-Organizer of VR Hub Tokyo

Artis is VR, AR and mobile enthusiast beyond games. From start-up while at school to corporate ventures, from coding of a mobile app to software innovation, Artis Birzins spent many years in global business, entrepreneurship and technology. Artis holds master degree from Waseda Business School and works as lead architect for enterprise applications. He is also contributor to Mobile Business Insights on VR and mobile technology topics. 


Leonard Burton

Co-Organizer of VR Hub Tokyo

Leonard is a freelance user experience (UX) designer currently working out of Tokyo. With over 10 years of experience in the web design industry (as both a designer and developer) he most recently has been focused on an iOS & web UX design project for a social startup in the UK. In addition to this he spends a significant amount of time learning and experimenting with emerging technologies. Over the last couple of years this has most intently been with virtual reality (VR) with his main project being featured on the BBC and on Vice’s tech site Motherboard. He loves a good challenge.


Ash Geary

Owner of Pivot Creative Strategy

Ash Geary is the owner of Pivot Creative Strategy, an inbound marketing consulting and innovation promoter firm that helps Fortune 1000 companies and startups in the United States and in Japan attract and retain customers. He actively studies behavioral psychology to better understand why people do the things they do, and how to get them to do what you want them to do. Before dedicating work fulltime to consulting, he worked for over 20 years as a creative designer in marketing and advertising industries.


Impact HUB Tokyo

Impact HUB Tokyo is proud to be the official venue for VR Hub Tokyo. Impact HUB Tokyo is part innovation lab, business incubator and coworking space where a community of (social) entrepreneurs gathers, connects and exchanges knowledge and ideas. As Impact HUB Tokyo, we share the vision and passion with the VR Playgrounds Tokyo that we create community and movements around VR/AR innovation in Tokyo.
